Associate Professor In Genetic And Genomic Counselling at University of Surrey

Chris Jacobs is an accomplished academic and practitioner in the field of genetic and genomic counselling, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Surrey since May 2023. With extensive experience in higher education, Chris holds an Adjunct Fellow position at the University of Technology Sydney and has previously worked as an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at UNSW. Prior roles include a Doctoral Research Fellowship at UCL and a Consultant Genetic Counsellor in cancer genetics at Guy's and St. Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Chris's foundation in healthcare began as a Staff Nurse/Sister in the NHS from 1984 to 1995. Academic credentials include a PhD in Psychology from UCL and a Master's degree in Cancer Care (Genetics) from the University of London, complemented by training as a Registered Nurse from Middlesex Hospital.
