Daniel Ortegón currently serves at UNODC in the Human Trafficking and Migrant Smuggling Section since September 2025. Previously, Daniel held the position of Coordinador Centro Intégrate at Alcaldía de Cali, contributing to a national strategy aimed at supporting migrant and returned populations. In May 2025, Daniel participated as a delegate at the World Bank Group Youth Summit 2025, focusing on youth-led innovation for environmental sustainability. From June 2023 to March 2025, Daniel worked as a Migration and Forced Displacement Specialist for the Organización de los Estados Americanos and interned at the Department of Social Inclusion. Additional experiences include serving as a Dean's Fellow and volunteer at the War Crimes Research Office at American University Washington College of Law, and engaging in immigrant rights advocacy with organizations such as WCL IRAP and Mil Mujeres Legal Services. Daniel holds a Master of Laws in International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law from American University Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Laws with a concentration in International Law from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Cali.
