Untethered Initiative is a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental recovery in post-conflict zones — operating at the intersection of autonomous systems, ecological restoration, and humanitarian reconstruction.

Fiber optic cables used to guide drones in conflict zones don't disappear when the fighting ends. They accumulate in fields and forests, tangled in vegetation, woven into the earth, and mistaken for nesting material by wildlife. Farmers cannot safely work affected land. Children cannot play in contaminated areas. The road to recovery is blocked not just by rubble, but by an invisible lattice of debris.

We deploy purpose-built autonomous drone technology to detect, collect, and clear this debris — restoring land to the communities and ecosystems that depend on it.

Our work is guided by six core values: environmental stewardship, community-first decision-making, responsible innovation, radical transparency, urgency, and strict neutrality. We are not a political organization. We serve the land and the people.

As a nonprofit, we publish our operational data, funding sources, and mission outcomes. We work alongside local governments, NGOs, and affected communities — because cleanup decisions are made with, not for, the people who live on this land.
