UNVEIL is an Erasmus+ Capacity Building project in the field of Vocational Education and Training (VET) aimed at transforming VET systems across Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, and Uganda in response to the rise of Web 4.0 and the rapidly evolving digital economy.

The project seeks to close the regional digital skills gap by empowering VET educators and equipping learners with future-ready competences. Its core objectives include strengthening educators’ ability to teach advanced digital technologies, data literacy, cybersecurity, and digital entrepreneurship, while also developing a responsive and adaptive VET methodology aligned with labour market demands. UNVEIL also promotes public–private dialogue to ensure that education outcomes reflect industry needs.

A central output of the project is the development of a Web 4.0 Competence Framework, an e-course curriculum, and the UNVEIL e-Learning Hub. The hub provides an accessible and engaging online learning environment tailored to the Sub-Saharan context. The curriculum is co-designed through focus groups and surveys involving educators, industry professionals, and policymakers to ensure relevance and applicability.

The digital learning experience is complemented by physical training workshops in each participating Sub-Saharan country, creating a blended learning model that combines online instruction with hands-on, experiential learning. Participants who complete the programme receive certification recognising their acquired competences.

UNVEIL targets VET institutions, educators, learners, innovation ecosystems, policymakers, and local businesses. By enhancing digital inclusion, employability, and entrepreneurial capacity, the project contributes to sustainable economic development and supports broader goals related to quality education and decent work.
