Up and Running Guelph is a charitable organization working to improve mental health and well-being through inclusive, nature-based walking and running programs. Originally designed for women who are experiencing mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety and/or depression, we are in a growth phase and are working to expand our program offerings to serve additional populations. 

A 2-year university study of Up and Running Guelph showed that participants in our running programs experienced decreased symptoms of depression and social isolation, along with increased self-esteem and physical activity. With the pandemic causing high rates of anxiety, social isolation, and depression, we hope to fill a critical need in our community, giving people a powerful new tool for improving their mental health.

Up and Running is both dedicated to community-building, and rooted in our community. Volunteers are at the heart of what we do, and our team of 50+ volunteer mentors and coaches is passionate about sharing the benefits of outdoor activity with women in our community. We also have an engaged Board of Directors and active Board committees who, together with our staff and volunteers, are committed to building our organization in a way that positively impacts community mental health and well-being for years to come.
