Upbeat Clean | The Award-Winning Cleaning Company Redefining Social Mobility

Upbeat Clean is the UK’s only cleaning company to receive the King’s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunities, a rare recognition of a model that delivers both commercial excellence and transformational impact.

Based in Derby, we provide premium commercial cleaning to 40+ offices, venues and manufacturers, including QUAD, Vaillant, Derby Museums, Derby University and Getinge.
Our difference? We turn everyday cleaning contracts into high-quality employment for refugee women, creating fair work, confidence, leadership pathways and long-term opportunity.

As part of Upbeat Communities, every pound of profit fuels refugee integration and social mobility across the UK.

Why We Stand Out

In an industry known for low pay and high turnover, we’ve built a model where people thrive and clients benefit.

Real Living Wage + supportive jobs

Training, mentoring and progression into leadership

A service culture rooted in dignity, reliability and excellence

70+ staff, six of seven managers from refugee backgrounds

£1m+ in wages paid to our majority refugee team.

This isn’t “ethical cleaning.”
This is exceptional cleaning powered by purpose.

Scaling Nationally: A Franchise Model for Social Impact at Scale

Our Derby success is now a blueprint.

We’re partnering with mission-driven refugee organisations to launch Upbeat Clean franchises across the UK, bringing our proven approach to cities with the demand, talent and networks to thrive.

Our vision: 10 cities, 1,000 refugee women employed, £10m sustainable revenue by 2033.

We’re inviting:

Impact investors

Philanthropic partners

Entrepreneurial refugee charities

…to help bring this award-winning model to new communities.
