Currently serving as the Head of Engineering at Upbound since November 2021, Sumbry has led efforts in pioneering cloud-native technologies, particularly with Crossplane. Previous roles include Head of Reliability Engineering at Airbnb, where Sumbry contributed to creating an inclusive environment, and Head of Production Engineering at Uber, overseeing critical systems for the Realtime Marketplace. Sumbry also held significant positions at Twilio, managing cloud services and operations, and has a rich entrepreneurial background as a founder of multiple companies, including ClubTickets and DigitalWaxDJ.
