Derek Bruff

Derek Bruff is an educator, author, and higher education consultant with extensive experience in teaching and faculty development. They directed the Vanderbilt University Center for Teaching for over a decade and currently serve as a Strategic Advisor at UPCEA and Associate Director at the Center for Teaching Excellence at the University of Virginia. Derek has authored two books on educational technology and active learning, and they produce weekly newsletters and a podcast focused on intentional teaching and learning. With a PhD in mathematics, they have taught mathematics courses at both Vanderbilt and Harvard University.
