Peace is a Practice—not a destination, not a utopia. 

It is a daily commitment, one that each person has capacity to embody. UPEACE NY is working to make this practice of peace understandable, accessible, desirable and doable. 

We do this by promoting and expanding upon the activities of the University for Peace, A United Nations Permanent Observer Mission, established pursuant to United Nations General Assembly Resolution 35/55 in 1980. UPEACE NY sits on the shoulders of this institution, whose influence is present throughout the world, whose teachings inform the practice of peacebuilders everywhere.

UPEACE NY believes that peace embodied as practice is key to transforming conflict and unlocking innovation. We are working to build a global community committed to a practice of peace through three interconnected areas of impact:
