Philippe Girolami

Philippe Girolami is the current Vice President of Engineering at Upflow. Philippe has also previously served as the Vice President of Engineering, Data Engineering and Machine Learning at Dailymotion from February 2017 to September 2021. During their time at Dailymotion, they were responsible for managing the tech vision, budgeting, and recruitment for their team. Philippe also worked on improving the on-call processes, collaboration with other teams, and the maturity of the teams' practices and tools. In addition, they pushed for machine learning to be used more extensively throughout the company.

Some projects that were completed during their time at Dailymotion include rebuilding the client-facing analytics stack from scratch, improving the Airflow DAG developer experience for managing dependencies, upgrading the datawarehouse, and transitioning some ad-hoc ML pipelines to a common framework.

Philippe Girolami has a Masters in Telecommunication & Information Systems Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, a Diplome d'Ingénieur from Centrale Lille, and certification from Coursera in Sequence Models - Andrew Ng, Convolutional Neural Networks - Andrew Ng, Structuring Machine Learning Projects - Andrew Ng, Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization - Andrew Ng, Neural Networks and Deep Learning by deeplearning.ai - Andrew Ng, and Code School in Shaping up with Angular.js.
