Duarte Sequeira

Chief Operations Officer at UpHill

Duarte Sequeira has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Duarte co-founded UpHill Health in 2015 and currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer. Duarte also holds a role as an Invited Assistant at Universidade da Beira Interior since March 2018. In addition, they are an Invited Lecturer at ISCTE Executive Education starting from October 2021. Previously, they worked as the Head of the Portuguese National Center of Telehealth and an IT Project Manager at SPMS, EPE - Serviços Partilhados do Ministério da Saúde from January 2017 to October 2021. Duarte was also a member of the External Evaluation Committee at A3ES from April 2016 to April 2017. Prior to that, they worked as an Assistant Curriculum Developer on Medical Education at the University of Luxembourg from June 2014 to April 2016. Duarte was a member of the Pedagogic Council at Universidade da Beira Interior, Faculty of Health Sciences from November 2013 to October 2015. Duarte served as the President of ANEM/PorMSIC - Portuguese Medical Students' International Committee from 2014 to January 2015. Furthermore, they held positions as Vice President and Local Officer on Medical Education at MedUBI from January 2012 to January 2014.

Duarte Sequeira began their education history in 2010, attending Universidade da Beira Interior where they earned a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in the field of Medicina. From 2017 to 2018, they pursued a post-graduation in Information Management and Business Intelligence in Healthcare at NOVA IMS Information Management School. Currently, Duarte Sequeira is a Ph.D. student at ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, specializing in Information Science and Technology. In terms of additional certifications, they completed the Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) course offered by the American Heart Association | American Stroke Association in June 2016. Furthermore, Duarte Sequeira obtained a certification in Improvement Capability, Patient Safety, Leadership, Person- And Family-centered Care, Triple Aim For Populations, And Quality, Cost and Value, from the IHI (exact completion date unavailable).
