Tom Alexander

CEO and Co-Founder at Uplevel Systems

Tom Alexander has over 30 years of experience in the IT and communications industry. Tom began their career in 1987 as the MTS & Co-Founder of ImageSystems Inc, a company that was founded to bring to market an innovative imaging system for medical and dental clinics. In 1990, they became a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Washington, where they worked on a novel imaging and graphics processor. From 1992 to 1996, they were the Principal Architect at Bit, Inc. Tom then moved on to PMC-Sierra, Inc, where they were the Principal Engineer from 1996 to 2002. In 2002, they became the Chief Technology Officer at VeriWave, Inc, where they were responsible for technical and business guidance of Wi-Fi products. From 2011 to 2014, they were the Senior Architect at Ixia. In 2014, they became the Guest Editor of the Radio Communications Series at IEEE Communications Magazine. In 2016, they became the CEO and Co-Founder of Uplevel Systems Inc, a cloud/hardware IT services product designed from the ground up for small businesses.

Tom Alexander earned their B. Tech in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in 1984. Tom then pursued a MSEE in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, which they completed in 1986. Finally, they earned their PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Washington in 1990.
