Malcolm Hockaday

Director, Planning at U+I

Dr. Malcolm Hockaday joined U+I in mid-2019 following a long career in the public sector, commercial development and consultancy. His role at U+I embraces monitoring of all major regeneration projects, mostly in London but including Manchester and in Dublin, alongside general policy and strategy advice on the rapidly-changing planning world.

He had for 25 years provided the main planning support for the Cathedral Group, including schemes in Greenwich, Eltham and Clapham and across the South East – before continuing with the new U+I on housing and mixed-use developments across London and the South East, such as the Deptford Project, The Old Vinyl Factory, 8 Albert Embankment and Morden Wharf.

Malcolm shares the U+I passion for creating great and interesting places which add to their local environments and seeks to promote this approach with the planning authorities involved.
