Elina Warsta

Elina Warsta is a seasoned professional in forest affairs and sustainability, currently serving as a Senior Manager in the Public Affairs team at UPM since March 2022, focusing on EU and global advocacy. Prior to this role, Elina was responsible for global wood sourcing and forestry at UPM, ensuring compliance across four key regions. Elina's experience includes serving as a Ministerial Adviser at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, where coordination of EU forest-related topics was a primary responsibility. Other positions held encompass project and program management roles at Business Finland and Finpro, providing trade promotion and supporting Finnish companies in international markets. Elina’s earlier career includes significant contributions to capacity-building projects with FAO and UNECE, research roles at Aalto University and the Finnish Forest Research Institute, and advanced academic credentials in forest products chemistry and industrial environmental technology. Elina is currently pursuing a Doctor of Science degree in Bioproduct Technology at Aalto University.
