Marko Laakkonen

Marko Laakkonen has extensive experience in the forestry and paper production industry, currently serving as Mill Director at UPM Plywood Pellos mills and previously as Director for the Kaipola PostClosure Project at UPM from 2009 to the present. Marko has also led the Jamsa River Mills MPA production unit and managed the Kaipola production unit, overseeing significant production capacities in coated and uncoated paper and employing a workforce of 520 staff. Prior experience includes the role of Production Unit Director for Kaipola LWC at UPM-Kymmene from 2004 to 2009. Marko holds an EMBA from the Helsinki School of Economics (2004-2006) and a Master of Science in Technology from LUT University (1988-1995).
