Mika Kosonen

Mika Kosonen is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in automation, digital operations, and process improvement in the pulp and paper industry. Currently serving as Senior Manager for Tools & Processes in Pulp Operations at UPM since August 2020, Mika leads a team focused on enhancing information systems and automation solutions across UPM pulp mills, while previously managing digital operations development. Prior to this role, Mika held multiple positions at Outotec, including Director of Advanced Control Solutions, overseeing technical development and sales support in minerals processing. Mika's career at UPM began in 2005 and includes various managerial roles in operative projects and technical services, complemented by a strong technical background from earlier positions at Metso Automation. Educational qualifications include a D.Sc. in Automation and Control Engineering and an MSc in Control Engineering and Software Engineering from Tampere University of Technology.
