Mikko Wecksten

Mikko Wecksten has extensive work experience in the IT industry. Mikko started their career at Telecom Finland in 1990, where they worked as a Systems and Software Engineer, specializing in software development, systems design, and technical support. In 1997, they joined UPM-Kymmene and held various roles, such as Team Leader, Team Manager, and Head of IT Services, where they were responsible for managing and delivering global IT infrastructure services. Mikko then transitioned to Vice President roles, leading IT operations globally and overseeing IT strategy and governance. Since 2021, they have been serving as Vice President of Business IT Services at UPM - The Biofore Company, ensuring the alignment of IT services with the company's business strategy. Mikko's roles have involved leading large teams and managing substantial budgets.

Mikko Wecksten holds an MSc in Technology in Information Technology from LUT University. Mikko also obtained an MBA in MBA for industry (strategy, marketing, finance, co-operation, etc.) from the same institution. In addition to their degrees, Mikko has obtained additional certifications including Career Essentials in Generative AI by Microsoft and LinkedIn, and they are a Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist from Scaled Agile, Inc.
