Vesa Kolu

Vesa Kolu is a Senior Sourcing Manager at UPM since January 2008, focusing on energy-related capex investments globally and managing multiple sourcing-related functions across UPM projects. Kolu has held several key positions within UPM, including Sourcing Director for APAC, where leadership of a 50-person team was essential for managing procurement strategies at the Changshu mill in China, and roles in mill sourcing and global procurement. Prior experience includes serving as Plant Manager at Specialty Minerals Inc. and various technical and managerial roles at Metso Paper. Kolu obtained a Master of Science in Industrial Physics and Chemistry from the University of Jyväskylä and a Bachelor of Science in Process Technology from Tampere University of Applied Sciences. Additionally, Kolu contributed as Chairman of the Board at Asunto-osakeyhtiö Janhulankartano from May 2015 to May 2020.
