Aashika Bhat is a dedicated undergraduate researcher pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology, along with a minor in Chemistry and Religious Studies, at the University of Pittsburgh. Aashika's research experience includes a position as a Research Mentee at the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on GAPDH mRNA expression in pro-B cells, and as an Undergraduate Researcher at Thomas Jefferson University, where the investigation centered on the role of DGK in airway smooth muscle cell proliferation and vitamin A signaling in asthma. Currently, Aashika is involved with UPMC, studying telomere biology and the roles of POT1 and ACD genes in cellular immortalization. Aashika has also contributed as a co-author to an abstract published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
