Brian Bachowski

Brian Bachowski has extensive experience in patient safety and regulatory oversight within the healthcare sector. Currently serving as Senior Director of Patient Safety and Regulatory Oversight at UPMC since January 2017, Brian provides enterprise-wide leadership and strategic direction in these critical areas. Previously, Brian held the role of Director of Systemwide Regulatory and Accreditation Services at UPMC, focusing on regulatory processes and compliance. Other notable positions include Director of Regulatory and Compliance at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside and Risk Manager/Patient Safety Officer at UPMC East. Brian began a career in healthcare as a Health Facility Quality Examiner with the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Academically, Brian holds a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, both from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
