John Houston is a progressive leader with over 30 years of experience in health privacy, information security, data governance, and IT risk management within the healthcare sector. Currently serving as Vice President of Information Security and Privacy and Associate Counsel at UPMC, they oversee a team of over 100 professionals and play a critical role in compliance with HIPAA and the operation of Pennsylvania's largest Health Information Exchange, ClinicalConnect HIE. Houston also served as President of CloudConnect Health IT and was a committee member and co-chair for the National Committee on Vital and Health Statistics, providing guidance on health data privacy and security. They earned a JD from Duquesne University School of Law and a BS in Computer Science and History from the University of Pittsburgh.
