Jacob John

Jacob John is a highly experienced professional in polymer engineering and chemistry with a robust career spanning over two decades. Currently serving as a New Product Developer/Research Scientist at Uponor since March 2007, Jacob specializes in R&D, new product development, and process improvement, guiding products from pilot stages to commercialization. Previously, Jacob held positions as a Polymer Chemist at Medtronic Inc, where responsibilities included developing new coatings processes for medical devices and coordinating product testing for FDA approval. Jacob's background also includes research at Disc Dynamics, focusing on polymeric medical materials, and a Post Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Minnesota, where synthesis and characterization of biodegradable plastics were key tasks. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Polymer Materials from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and a Master's Degree in Polymer Chemistry, alongside a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Maths, and Physics from the University of Kerala.
