Edward Timpson

Edward, an Old Uppinghamian, studied Politics at Durham University before being called to the Bar in 1998. Following a career in family law he became the Member of Parliament for Crew and Nantwich in 2008, during which time he was Parliamentary Private Secretary for the Home Secretary, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families (awarded Minister of the Year during this time in recognition of his work on fostering and adoption) then Minister of State for Children and Families from 2015 to 2017.

A Member of the Board of Trade (2017-19), the Chair of Cafcass (2018-19) and Chair of the National Child Safeguarding Panel (2018-19). In 2019 Edward was returned as Member of Parliament for Eddisbury.

Edward has completed thirteen London marathons in support of a range of local and national charities including the Christie, the mid Cheshire Hospitals charity Save the Family, Parkinsons UK and the NSPCC. Edward is also a member of the School’s parent community.
