Nicolas Chan

Nicolas Chan has a diverse work experience that spans various industries and positions. Nicolas currently holds the position of Chief Digital and Data Officer at UPSA, where they have been since February 2023. Prior to this, Nicolas was the Chief of Staff at UPSA from May 2021 to January 2023, playing a pivotal role in the company's transformation and achieving a 20% increase in revenue in the first year.

From 2017 to 2020, Nicolas worked at Boehringer Ingelheim as the Corporate Development Director, leading strategic business initiatives and supporting the CEO of the Division. Before that, they worked as the Corporate Development Director at Sanofi (Merial) from 2015 to 2017, where their responsibilities included project leadership and supporting transformation efforts.

Nicolas also has experience in management consulting. Nicolas worked at The Boston Consulting Group as a Strategy & Organization Consultant from 2013 to 2015. Prior to that, they worked at ZS as a Commercial Excellence & Market Intelligence Consultant from 2010 to 2012, where they managed and executed sales and marketing consulting assignments.

Later, they enrolled in École Polytechnique, where they completed their M.Sc in Applied Mathematics and Economics from 2003 to 2008. During the same period, they also studied at Polytechnique Montréal, earning an additional M.Sc in Computational and Applied Mathematics. Alongside their formal education, Nicolas obtained several certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge in relevant fields. These certifications include "Introduction to Cybersecurity" from the University of Washington in 2021, "Intermediate Machine Learning" from Kaggle in 2020, "Digital Business Strategy: Harnessing our Digital Future" from MIT Sloan Executive Education in 2020, and "Negotiation Mastery" from Harvard Business School Online in 2020.
