Matthew McCord

Matthew McCord has extensive experience in the construction and management industries, currently serving as a Foreman and Carpenter at Upscale Construction since February 2020, while also working as an Apprentice Carpenter at Kerr Construction, Inc. since February 2017. Prior entrepreneurial experience includes co-founding Bala Cords, LLC, where Matthew developed a business plan, launched an e-commerce site for adaptable phone chargers, and successfully featured the product on a popular platform. As General Manager at San Diego Bike & Kayak Tours from 2012 to 2014, Matthew demonstrated strong leadership skills by recruiting and training staff, contributing to the timely and budget-compliant opening of a new location. Earlier, Matthew held roles as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor at the YMCA from 2007 to 2012. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from San Francisco State University and an Associate’s degree from San Diego Mesa College.
