Arnab Sarkar

Arnab Sarkar is a Senior Data Engineer at Upstart, a position held since September 2018, after serving as a Data Engineer at the same company. Prior to Upstart, Arnab worked as a PhD candidate at the University of Rochester from August 2013 to September 2019, where significant contributions included discovering a numerical heating phenomenon in plasma physics simulations and developing an automated simulation setup. Additionally, Arnab was a Teaching Assistant, leading undergraduate courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering and a graduate course on parallel and distributed computing. Arnab completed a Data Engineering Fellowship at Insight Data Science in 2018, designing a lambda-architecture data pipeline. Earlier experience includes working as a Hardware Engineer at NVIDIA, where design and Static Timing Analysis were performed on microprocessor chips. Arnab holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Rochester and a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (Banaras Hindu University).
