Chao Yan

Chao Yan is a highly experienced software engineer currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer at Upstart since April 2022. Prior to this role, Chao worked at Epic Systems Corporation from October 2008 to February 2022 as a Senior Software Engineer, where responsibilities included the full stack design, development, integration, and maintenance of a large-scale registry analytics framework impacting 70 million patients. Chao's internship experience includes developing a full-text search module at Palgloo, researching parallel debugging techniques at ICT, and creating a C++ module for data analysis at China Mobile. Chao holds a Master's degree in Applied Math and Statistics from The Johns Hopkins University and a PhD in Computer Science and Technology from the University of Science and Technology of China.
