Ernie E. Fontes

Ernie E. Fontes is a Senior Research Scientist at Upstart since December 2024 and previously served as Head of Data Science at Guardinex Inc. from June 2020 to November 2024, where efforts focused on combating application fraud in financial services through dark web breach data. Experience includes a position as Ross Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University from August 2017 to September 2020, conducting postdoctoral research in homotopy theory and algebraic K-theory.
