Peter Bernard

Peter Bernard serves as a Board Member at Upstart and is currently a member of the Board of Trustees for the Massachusetts Audubon Society and Chair of the Board of Directors for Barclays U.S. and Barclays Bank Delaware. They previously held the position of Chief Risk Officer at D. E. Shaw & Co. from 2006 to 2014 and served as Managing Director at JP Morgan from 1979 to 1994. Additionally, Peter served as Chief Financial Officer at RISKMETRICS GROUP from 2000 to 2004 and as Chief Operating Officer at Root Capital from 2010 to 2016. Peter earned a BA in Economics from Bowdoin College, where they currently serve as a Trustee.
