Ron Wang

Ron Wang has a diverse and extensive work experience in software engineering. Ron is currently working as a Frontend Engineer at Uptycs since 2021. Prior to that, they worked at SpotHero from 2019 to 2021 as a Full Stack Engineer. In this role, they designed and implemented a RESTful API using Django and PostgreSQL, implemented an order scheduling system using Celery, and migrated the system to AWS.

Before SpotHero, Ron worked at Solv. from 2017 to 2019 as a Senior Software Engineer. During this time, they updated and added features to the Rails codebase, refactored the appointment scheduling and mailing system, and scaled the API using microservices.

From 2015 to 2017, Ron worked at ClickUp as a Software Engineer. Ron migrated the REST API to Node/JavaScript using Hapi, integrated GraphQL and TypeScript on both the backend and frontend.

Ron's prior experience includes working at Lonely Planet as a Full Stack Engineer from 2013 to 2015, where they migrated the codebase from Python 2.7 to Python 3.6 and upgraded major dependencies.

At Ro, from 2011 to 2013, they worked as a Back End Developer and created a REST API using Ruby on Rails, implemented appointment scheduling system using Sidekiq, and implemented role-based assets and permission management.

Lastly, from 2009 to 2011, Ron worked at Indiegogo as a Full Stack Engineer. Ron provided API endpoints using Node/Express and PostgreSQL, and built an admin platform for managing database entities and users using Angular. Overall, Ron has a strong technical background with experience in a variety of technologies and has contributed significantly to multiple software projects.
