Mark Shmulevsky

Mark Shmulevsky is the Senior Cyber Security Manager at Upward Technology. Mark has over 20 years of experience in IT and Cybersecurity. Prior to their current position, they were the IT Director and CISO at Innovari from February 2015 to March 2016. In this role, they managed and controlled IT programs and projects to ensure timely, optimal quality, and on-budget completion. Mark also analyzed company word-wide operations and determined potential threats, cybersecurity risks, potential attack vectors, and liabilities.

Shmulevsky has a long history of working in IT and cybersecurity. Mark began their career as an IT Specialist at the United States Department of Energy in 1996. Mark then worked as a Senior Information Systems Security Officer at the Department of Defense from 2002 to 2009. In these roles, they were responsible for securing the networks of the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense.

From 2009 to 2011, Shmulevsky worked as a Cybersecurity Manager at the National Security Agency. In this role, they oversaw the development and implementation of cybersecurity programs and policies.

Shmulevsky has also worked as an IT Manager at the Department of Homeland Security from 2011 to 2012 and as a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at Booz Allen Hamilton from 2012 to 2014. In these roles, they oversaw the development and implementation of IT programs and projects. Mark also conducted research on prospective technology evaluations and integrations.

Mark Shmulevsky has a MS in Systems Engineering and Computer Science from Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte (Riga Technical University) and a certification from Pragmatic EA Ltd in Enterprise Architect. Mark also has a certification from SANS Institute in Certified Ethical Hacker.
