Cliff Carnes

Regional Vice President, East Coast Sales at Upwave

Cliff Carnes has extensive sales experience. Cliff began their career in 2010 as a Sales Team Leader and Outside Sales Representative for University Directories. In this role, they managed and motivated a team of four advertising sales representatives, and earned the "Blue Collar Award" for averaging 35+ quality, door-to-door sales calls a day on local businesses throughout Washington, D.C. In 2011, they joined AT&T AdWorks as a Digital Sales Planning & Account Strategy, where they created online and mobile/tablet media proposals for advertising clients, resulting in over 100+ closed deals and over $11MM in revenue for AT&T. Cliff then moved on to LIN Mobile as an Account Executive in 2013, followed by xAd, Inc. in 2014 in the same role. In 2015, they joined Factual Inc. as a Director of Agency & Strategic Partnerships, and then moved up to Senior Demand Executive and Demand Manager in the same role. Most recently, they have been working at Upwave since 2019 as Regional Vice President, East Coast Sales, Senior Director, East Coast Sales, and Sales Director.

Cliff Carnes attended the Porter-Gaud School before obtaining their BA in Journalism-Advertising from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2011. In April 2020, they obtained Edge Academy Certified: Marketing Foundations certification from The Trade Desk.
