Jon VanDeventer has extensive experience in education, program management, and consulting. From September 1998 to June 2014, Jon served as a teacher at Calvert County Public Schools. Following this, Jon worked as the Director of School Engagement for Project Lead The Way until June 2017. Jon's freelance work includes serving as a Developer for Elance.com in 2010 and transitioning to roles at Upwork, where Jon has been a Salesforce Consultant and Administrator since January 2018. Additionally, Jon was a Program Manager and Salesforce Administrator at CodeVA until December 2018. As the owner of Why Minded LLC since June 2017, Jon has combined entrepreneurial ventures with a strong background in education. Jon’s early career includes sales and management positions at Dale Carnegie Training and Vector Marketing. Jon holds a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from McDaniel College and a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry from Virginia Tech.
