Daniel Spirn

VP, Government Relations at URAC

Daniel Spirn is the current Vice President of Government Relations at URAC. Prior to their current position, Daniel served as Senior Regulatory Counsel at the American Academy of Neurology from January 2014 to December 2021. In this role, Daniel co-led the Washington, D.C. office and was responsible for the AAN's regulatory and Executive Branch advocacy strategy. Daniel also reviewed proposed and final regulations that impacted AAN members, drafted comment letters, represented the AAN before federal officials, and worked across multiple AAN committees. In addition, Daniel met with congressional offices and oversaw the organization’s regulatory public affairs strategy. Daniel supervised health policy staff and was the recipient of the 2020 Association Forum's Forty Under 40 award highlighting rising association leaders, the 2019 American Association of Medical Society Executive's Profiles of Excellence award for advocacy campaign responding to regulatory proposals in the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, and the 2018 AAN's Great Performer award which recognizes outstanding accomplishments and contributions to the organization. Prior to their work at the American Academy of Neurology, Daniel served as Policy Counsel at Rockpointe Corporation from January 2013 to December 2014.

Daniel Spirn has a J.D./M.A. from University of Wisconsin Law School, a B.A. in Political Science and Communication Arts from University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Healthcare Leadership from Cornell University, and a Graduate Certificate in Legislative Studies from Georgetown University. Daniel is also certified as a Certified Association Executive (CAE) from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership and has licenses from the DC Bar and the State Bar of Wisconsin.

Daniel Spirn reports to Shawn Griffin, President & CEO. Daniel Spirn works with Houeida Saad - General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer & Privacy Officer, Robin Adams - VP, Strategy & Product Development, and Karen Watts - VP, Accrediting & Client Services.
