Son Lam Ho has had a varied and extensive career in the field of data science. Son Lam began their professional career in 2008 as a Graduate Assistant at the University of Maryland, where they taught Elementary Statistics and Probability, Elementary Calculus, Linear Algebra for Scientists and Engineers, and held discussion/exercise sessions for Calculus I. Son Lam also served as a grader for advanced courses in Introductory Topology, Geometry for Computer Graphics, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations. In 2005, they were a Teaching Assistant at Williams College. In 2014, they became a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Luxembourg. In 2015, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at Université de Sherbrooke, where they also taught a 1-week mini-course on Geometric Structures on Manifolds in August 2017. In 2018, they joined VietAI as a Teaching Team Member. Since 2017, they have been a Data Scientist at URBANMETRY (formerly known as Property Pricetag), where their roles include designing and implementing the architecture for property price nowcast/forecast models, implementing traditional and machine learning algorithms for data processing tasks, and deploying models into production.
Son Lam Ho received their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science (double major) from Williams College in 2008. Son Lam then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics from the University of Maryland, which they completed in 2014. In 2019, they obtained the certification of Probabilistic Graphical Models 1: Representation (with Honors) from Coursera. In 2020, they obtained the certification of Problem Solving (Advanced) from HackerRank.
