Pravin Mathur is the current director at URISA. Prior to this, they worked at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Geospatial Information and Technology Association, Chesapeake URISA, and Clark Nexsen. At Clark Nexsen, they were the Director of Geospatial Information Systems and was responsible for the Cloud (AWS) Implementation of ArcGIS Portal, championing GIS for wider utilization to improve inter-disciplinary coordination, business development and marketing across all disciplines and offices. Pravin also oversaw GIS project execution, quality assurance, transportation studies and planning, infrastructure assessments, asset management, energy planning, watershed delineation, and ports. In addition, they developed continuing GIS education plans, trained and mentored employees, and cultivated business partnerships and teaming agreements. Some of their most significant projects include the NAVFAC GIS Far East Non-Utility Linear Structures Asset Evaluation, NAVFAC Asset Management Data Quality Assessment, NAVFAC Public Private Housing GIS Inventory & Assessment, Norfolk International Terminals Facility Assessment, Georgia Army National Guards - Statewide GIS Layer Collection, and Asset Audits - Marine Corps.
Pravin Mathur has a MS in Urban Spatial Analytics from the University of Pennsylvania. Pravin also has a Master Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University. In addition, they have a Strategies, Data and Community Participation in Marketing from Kasetsart University. Pravin has also done Graduate Studies - Physical Sciences from Kumaun University, Nainital. Finally, they have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Annamalai University. Pravin is also certified from Crestcom International, LLC in Crestcom Bullet Proof Manager and from GIS Certification Institute in GISP.
