Owen Zhang

Owen Zhang is the CEO of NewUrtopia since 2021. Prior to that, they were the Co-Founder of Meltpartners from 2016 to 2021. From 2014 to 2016, they were a Senior Engineer at Seagate Technology. From 2009 to 2014, they were a Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota, where they were involved in mechanical modeling and design of sensors, optimization of heat sink product design, and guidance on mechanical design projects. In 2008, they were a Summer Internship at TU Berlin, where they designed and fabricated thin film micro pressure sensor and conducted FEA modeling of micro pressure sensor. In 2007, they were a Research Assistant at Tsinghua University.

Owen Zhang attended the University of Minnesota from 2009 to 2014, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, they attended Tsinghua University from 2005 to 2009, where they obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Precision Instruments and Mechnology.
