Catherine Long is a seasoned Navy Surface Warfare Officer currently in the PXO/PCO training pipeline. Between 2021 and 2023, they served as a Special Assistant to the Chief of Naval Operations and led the N73 Strategic Warfighting Innovation Cell at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations. Their prior experience includes various leadership roles, such as Commanding Officer of the USS SAMPSON and Chief Engineer on the USS PINCKNEY. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the United States Naval Academy, as well as a Master of Science in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Master of International Public Policy from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
