Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the U.S. Navy, currently serving as the Director of Emergency Radiological Planning since January 2023. Smith leads the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans, ensuring the safety of naval personnel in critical incidents. Previously, Smith has held significant positions including General Engineer, Engineer III, and Project Program Management Specialist, focusing on submarine systems engineering, electrical distribution, and propulsion systems. With a career spanning over two decades in various engineering and leadership roles, including Engineering Department Master Chief and Assistant Security Manager, Smith has demonstrated expertise in technical oversight, training development, and security program management. Smith holds a Bachelor's degree in Technical Studies from Thomas Edison State University and an Associate's degree in Nuclear Power Technology from Coastline College.
