David Kiel is an experienced leader in the field of directed energy and electronic warfare, with a military career that includes serving as a Captain in the US Navy from July 2005 to September 2011, where David initiated and led the Navy's Laser Weapon System Program. Currently, David functions as the Director of the Directed Energy Warfare Office at the Naval Sea Systems Command, overseeing critical directed energy projects. Previous roles include Director of Navy Programs at Innovative Logistic Technologies, Inc., and Technical Warrant Holder for Directed Energy Programs at NAVSEA, while also leading a systems engineering group at Envisioneering Inc. David holds a Master of Science in Physics from the Naval Post Graduate School, a Master’s degree in National Security Policy Studies from the National Defense University, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science & Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Additionally, David serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Directed Energy Professional Society and has transitioned into retirement, engaging in world travel.
