Derek Trinque

Derek Trinque is a seasoned leader currently serving as the Director of Surface Warfare at the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, where they guide a team dedicated to the U.S. Navy’s Surface Force. With a career spanning over three decades in the U.S. Navy, they have held pivotal roles including Commanding Officer of USS Normandy and Commander of Expeditionary Strike Group Seven. Derek's past leadership positions also include Director of Strategic Plans, Policy, and Logistics at US Transportation Command, as well as Branch Head for various departments within the Joint Staff and OPNAV. They earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Government from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Arts in National Security Policy Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
