Matt Schlarmann

Matt Schlarmann is currently the Commanding Officer of Naval Station Norfolk, where they lead daily operations that support over 72,000 personnel and manage $10 billion in facility assets. With over two decades of military leadership experience, Matt has previously served as the Principal Deputy Legislative Assistant on The Joint Staff, where they supported the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. They have held various significant positions within the US Navy, including Commanding Officer of Electronic Attack Squadron ONE THREE SEVEN, overseeing a large team and achieving multiple prestigious awards. Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in History from the United States Naval Academy and a Master of Science in Adult and Continuing Education from Kansas State University.
