Matthew Kuettel

Matthew Kuettel, MD, FACS, FASMBS, is a general surgeon specializing in minimally invasive, metabolic, and bariatric surgery, currently serving at the Defense Health Agency. From 2008 to 2024, they held various surgical roles in the US Navy, including Battalion Surgeon during deployment in Iraq and Director of Surgical Services at multiple facilities. Additionally, they have contributed to medical education as a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery and have completed advanced training in minimally invasive and robotic surgery. Matthew earned their MD from McGovern Medical School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University.
