Michael Prouty

Michael Prouty is the Commanding Officer at Naval Medical Research Unit EURAFCENT, with extensive experience in various leadership roles across the US Navy and Naval Medical Research Center. They previously served as the Commanding Officer at Naval Medical Research Unit SOUTH and held several significant positions including Deputy Director and Director of the Research Science Directorate at Naval Medical Research Unit SIX. Michael has a strong academic background, currently pursuing a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Microbiology and Biochemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, while also holding a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from The University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in Microbiology from The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio.
