Marcus Ong

Marcus Ong has had a diverse work experience, beginning with a Data Analytics Internship in 2014 at the Business Analytics Translational Centre. In 2018, they became a Computer Lab Assistant at the National University of Singapore. In 2019, they worked as a Data Scientist at a Hedge Fund, where they worked on quantitative research projects with the goal of finding trading alphas using alternative data. In 2020, they were a Full Stack Engineer at SELLGO, where they worked on a data platform and API Backend. Currently, they are a Software Engineer at Us2.ai, where they are enabling universal access to heart echocardiography with AI. Marcus has worked with technologies such as Python, Django, Typescript, Angular, MongoDB, Redis, Terraform, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, Tensorflow, MLFlow, Prefect, and Tensorflow Serving.

Marcus Ong has a Bachelor of Computing in Computer Science from the National University of Singapore, obtained between 2018 and 2021. In 2020, they completed the NUS Overseas Colleges program for Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies, and a Management Science & Engineering program at the Stanford Center for Professional Development (SCPD). Marcus also holds a Diploma with Merit in Information Technology from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, obtained between 2012 and 2015. In addition, they have obtained various certifications, including Build a Backend REST API with Python & Django - Advanced from Udemy in December 2020, Bloomberg Market Concepts from Bloomberg LP in February 2019, and DS102: Data Analytics with Python from Hackwagon Academy in January 2019.
