Will Carless is an award-winning national correspondent for USA TODAY, specializing in extremism and emerging issues since November 2020. Prior to this role, Carless served as a senior investigative reporter at Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting, focusing on hate and extremism in the United States from January 2017 to November 2020. Carless also worked as a senior foreign correspondent for PRI's Global Post team from June 2015 to January 2017, reporting on breaking news and in-depth investigative stories across South America. Earlier career experiences include serving as head of investigations at Voice of San Diego (2004-2013) and as arts and culture editor for La Jolla Light & San Diego Suburban News (2003-2004). Carless holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from the University of Exeter, earned from 1999 to 2002.
