At USC NSBE, we carry forward the National Society of Black Engineers mission to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community. We advance this mission on campus through workshops, mentorship, and hands-on programming such as weekly study nights, peer tutoring, resume reviews, mock interviews, technical preparation, company site visits, and leadership and entrepreneurship events that help our members grow into impactful engineers.

Our chapter is home to more than 120 members with an average GPA of 3.5, and we have been recognized as a two-time Region VI Chapter of the Year with multiple national competition winners. Beyond USC, our Pre-College Initiative broadens access to engineering across the greater Los Angeles area through interactive workshops, design competitions, classroom visits, and mentorship for K–12 students. Our community impact this past year includes over 17 service events and 450 volunteer hours in partnership with organizations such as The Engineer Factory, Skidmore, Owings and Merrill, and the Inglewood School District Science and Engineering Design Fair.
