Thom Baynes is an accomplished engineering manager with extensive experience in software development and quality assurance. At UserTesting since January 2021, Thom has taken on roles from back-end engineer to engineering manager. Previously, at Buyapowa, Thom was a full-stack developer, leading technical initiatives and maintaining Ruby on Rails systems. With a strong foundation in quality assurance at RewardStream, Thom advanced from junior systems analyst to QA architect, implementing testing frameworks and mentoring developers. Thom began the career as a technical analyst intern at Vancouver Airport Authority and has continually contributed to various projects throughout a solid educational background in computer science from The University of British Columbia.
