Gary Vanbutsele 🐳

Gary Vanbutsele is a co-founder and CEO of Whale (usewhale.io), a knowledge sharing and training platform that connects teams to processes and best practices. Gary has been in this role since January 2018. Prior to Whale, Gary co-founded Direct, an IT security and managed services provider, in February 2014. Direct was acquired by EASI in December 2021.

Gary Vanbutsele received a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from Mercator Hogeschool Gent in 2009, followed by a Master's degree in Communication Studies from Ghent University from 2009 to 2011. Gary also holds several additional certifications, including Citrix Certified Sales Professional in 2013 and 2015, HP Sales Certified - Introduction to Selling Servers, Storage, Networking and Services in 2014, and VMware Sales Professional 5 in 2014. The institution from which Gary obtained these certifications is unknown.
