Cesar Chan

Cesar Chan is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research and development, currently serving as the Director of the Analytical and Product Safety Lab at USG since April 2022. Prior to this role, Cesar held the position of R&D Director at Knauf Gypsum APAC from July 2021 to March 2022, where responsibilities included the integration of APAC R&D functions and expanding R&D roles to encompass intellectual property and quality. From March 2014 to June 2021, Cesar was the Technology Program Director - R&D at USG Boral Building Products, overseeing the establishment of the R&D organization. Earlier career milestones include serving as Principal Researcher and Senior Researcher at USG, contributing to significant advancements in lightweight wallboard and energy-efficient technologies, and working as a Materials Engineer at AMEC Earth & Environmental Ltd. Cesar holds a PhD in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Cornell University and both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from The University of British Columbia.
